Founded in 1990 by Mr. Eduardo Gutierrez and operating as The Student Alternatives Program, we rebranded in 2019 to Triumph Public High Schools. We specialize in serving high school students who are placed at-risk in completing their high school education. Responsibilities: The Special Education Teacher is involved in the coordination and delivery of educational services to students with disabilities as defined by Section 3 of the Americans with Disability Act, as amended. He/she is responsible for the planning and delivery of appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. He/she helps the school implement a special education program that addresses the following provision of services, i.e.; Child Find, Admission, Review and Dismissal Committee (ARD), Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and insuring due process and services for students in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). He/she Insures curriculum has a plan for dealing with students with learning, physical and emotional disabilities. He/she works in a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized supplemental instruction for students

with disabilities. She/her performs other duties related to meeting the educational and other special needs of the special education student population. This position may require some occasional work on Saturday’s, over the summer and some travel within the state of Texas.

Qualifications:

  • Special Education Teacher Certification by the Texas State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) for grades EC-12 required
  • At least two years of school district teaching experience required.
  • At least one year of special education teaching experience required.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English required
  • Required to pass a pre-employment fingerprinting as part of the background check
  • Required to submit original college transcripts, service records and credentials within first 30 days of employment

Pay Range Based on Education, Experience, Certifications and/or Credentials:

Degree Teacher: $53,900 to $61,900 per year for certified Special Education Teachers

*Annually salary is calculated at a prorated rate from effective date of hire

This is a grant-funded position. Triumph Public High Schools cannot guarantee employement beyond the length of the grant.
