Founded in 1990 by Mr. Eduardo Gutierrez and operating as The Student Alternatives Program, we rebranded in 2019 to Triumph Public High Schools. We specialize in serving high school students who are placed at-risk in completing their high school education. Responsibilities: The English (ELA) Teacher provides students with appropriate educational activities and experiences that enable them to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. They help students develop the skills necessary to be productive members of society. The English (ELA) Teacher is also responsible for maintaining classroom discipline, documenting attendance and monitoring the academic progress of each student assigned to his or her classroom. The English (ELA) Teacher will be responsible for the following areas of instruction to students: English, Humanities, Reading, Creative Writing, College Prep/Readiness Classes, Research and Writing Skills, Communication, Debate, Public Speaking, Journalism and more! This position may require some occasional work on Saturday’s, over the summer and some travel within the state of Texas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in the subject area of instruction OR
- Bachelor's Degree with a minor (or the equivalent of a minor) in the subject area of instruction OR
- Bachelor’s Degree and passed the TExES/ExCET test in the subject area OR
- Bachelor’s Degree plus at least one year of teaching in the subject area at the high school level or higher
- A valid Texas teaching certificate in English as a Second Language Supplemental is preferred but not required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
- Ability to read, write and understand English required
- Required to pass a pre-employment fingerprinting as part of the background check
- Required to submit original college transcripts, service records and credentials within first 30 days of employment

Pay Range Based on Education, Experience, Certifications and/or Credentials:
Degree Teacher: $42,000 to $50,000 per year Certified Teacher: $47,250 - $55,250 per year
*Annually salary is calculated at a prorated rate from effective date of hire
ESL certified candidates are eligible for an additional $1,000 added to their base salary
